Our Cardiovascular Center also conducts a broad range of scientific research. Since 1999, special stents able to supply arteries with medicine have been a particular field of research. This innovation has been used in the field of cardiology throughout the world since 2002. Research is presently being conducted in the fields of clinical arteriogenesis, heart implantation and the conservation of this organ, three-dimensional echocardiography in real time and cardio-MRI, as well as new developments in cardiac pacemaker implantation and the usage of stem cells. We additionally carry out work on the topic of treating cardiac insufficiency and many other research projects in diverse disciplines of cardiology and angiology.
