We specialize in the treatment of liver diseases, especially hepatitis B, C and D, liver cirrhosis caused by any etiologies including the use of alcohol, obesity, diabetes mellitus and others. We have extensive experience in conducting radiofrequency ablation in the treatment of primary or secondary liver tumors and in the treatment of biliary diseases, implantation of stents to treat portal hypertension (TIPS).

The treatment of gastrointestinal diseases, including pancreatitis and colorectal coarcinoma is a further focal point in our division. These diseases have unfortunately become more common in recent years. Our division carries out all diagnostic procedures and therapeutic strategies, including chemotherapies, antibody therapies, thermoablation procedures, stent implantations and others.

Our experience includes a wide range of gastroenterological endoscopic diagnostic and therapeutic interventions:

  • Oesophago-gastro-duodenoscopy
  • Coloscopy with the removal of polyps
  • Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)
  • Cholangioscopy
  • Stent implantation in the esophagus, stomach, duodenum, colon, biliary tract
  • Endoscopic and external drainage of the biliary system and pancreatic cysts
  • Push enteroscopy and video capsule imaging of the small bowel
  • Functional gastrointestinal analyses, helicobacter pylori breath test, lactose und glucose tolerance test
  • Endosonography
  • Special consultations for chronic inflammatory bowel diseases (CIBD)

Our qualified doctors in the Endocrinology and Diabetology Division consult patients with diseases in this field. Here we provide medical services in the diagnosis and treatment of all endocrine disorders, including diabetes mellitus and thyroid dysfunction. We also offer special consultation for patients with osteoporosis and patients suffering from obesity, as well as a training program for patients suffering from diabetes mellitus which include nutrition and physical exercise programs.

Our division is very active in research. Approximately 70 scientists work here efficiently carrying out research in the field of hepatitis B and C, as well as esophagus, liver and colorectal cancer.
