Treatment of gyne-oncological diseases

Our department also deals with the treatment of gyne-oncological diseases. The most modern methods of operative treatment guarantee outstanding results. With the help of modern surgical procedures it is possible to offer a treatment “tailored” to the needs of the women with different gynecological tumors, such as uterus cancer, ovarian cancer or breast cancer. Treatment is performed by international specialists who use various modern methods and techniques, thus guaranteeing outstanding prospects.

In ovarian cancer, modern methods, such as, for example, intra-operative ultrasound destruction, provide the removal of the tiniest remnants of tumors in the tissue. This is something that could not be done earlier.

The advantage of our high-tech and ultramodern surgery techniques is that tumor removal is performed without damaging the nerves and tissues, thus avoiding post-surgical sensitivity problems, dysfunction of the urinary bladder or bowels.

In breast cancer, our department performs a wide range of surgeries aiming to preserve the breast. Various plastic and reconstructive operations are also offered. Breast reconstruction surgery is often performed using the patient’s own tissues. At the patients’ request, information regarding size and form of breasts are taken into consideration without of course forgetting about safety. These procedures offer outstanding esthetic results without sensitivity dysfunction or visible scars.

The Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics was one of the first to be certified in compliance with international standards here in Germany and thus winning international recognition and fame as one of the best centers for the treatment of breast diseases. In 2005, the department was also certified as the first ‘European Gynecological Cancer Center’ by the European Union.
