TACE - Transcatheter Arterial Chemoembolization

Tumour treatment

radiodiagnostics-09-c

Hepatic tumours (metastases and primary liver tumours)can be treated with the help of interventational radiological procedure - TACE.

After selecting vessels supplying the tumor, a chemotherapeutic substance is injected through a catheter directly to the tumor. TACE minimizes the damage for healthy liver tissues and allows to block the blood supply to the tumor (embolization) at the same time.
