Diagnostic Radiology in the University Medical Center Freiburg means state-of-the-art computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging, performed with the latest generation of CT and MRI scanners. Magnetic Resonance Imaging not only enables us to detect the slightest changes within the human body without exposure to X-rays or radiation. It also makes non-invasive angiography possible – the examination of blood vessels without the use of catheters. These procedures allow for a highly detailed examination of the heart and coronary vessels.
Modern angiography is a safe and highly informative diagnostic method for the assessment of vessel patency, and for obtaining high quality images with excellent contrast to the surrounding tissue. Digital mammography results in excellent breast imaging with a minimum of x-rays for the detection of breast cancer.
We also have extensive experience in carrying out CT and MR tomography for the diagnosis of a wide spectrum of diseases affecting the brain, spinal cord, vertebral column, heart and vessels, the organs in the chest and abdominal, the small pelvis, joints, and many more.
