Training

for Medical Doctors

Purpose of the program: Train medical and paramedical staff to upgrade their qualifications

Term of the training: 2 weeks and more

The program includes:

  • Tailored training program according to the request of the physician or the medical institution
  • A series of lectures and workshops based on the topic
  • Participation during operations, daily patients round, specialized interdisciplinary conferences, outpatient consultation-hours
  • Participation in the department educational program, arranged for the physicians
  • Program coordination by a physician and an English-speaking employee of International Medical Services
  • Weekly consultations with the deputy chief physician

Candidate qualifications:

  • Medical degree
  • Three years (minimum) professional work experience
  • Very advanced German language skills (C1 level) or payment for interpreter services

Program fees: from 4.500 € per week / per person (not included are interpreter services, board and lodging costs)

Purpose of the program: Train gynecologists in the areas of general gynecology, breast health, gynecological oncology and chemotherapy.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg is one of the largest in Germany.  Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Gerald Gitsch ranks as one of top German specialists, according to the magazine „Focus“. He was president of the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO) for years. In 2004 the Department was the first in Germany to be certified by the ESGO, and since 2012 it has been one of the leaders in the field of diagnostics and treatment of breast cancer in Germany. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology consists of three divisions:

  • Division of General Gynecology and Gynecology Oncology
  • Division of Perinatal Care and Obstetrics
  • Division of Endocrinology and Reproduction Medicine

Term of the training: 1 week for each of the 3 modules

The program includes:

Module: Gynecology oncology

  • Introduction into organization and structure of the department
  • Participation in daily patients rounds, specialized interdisciplinary conferences, outpatient consultation-hours
  • Diagnostic procedures and protocols
  • Patient safety and quality control
  • Option to choose topic of interest and specialization

Module: Breast Health

  • Introduction into organization and structure of the department
  • Diagnostic procedures (ultrasound, mammography, skin marking protocols)
  • Participation in daily patients rounds, specialized interdisciplinary conferences, outpatient consultation-hours
  • Radiological diagnostics
  • Stereotactic-Guided Vacuum-Assisted  Biopsy
  • Intraoperative radiation therapy INTRABEAM

Module: Operations for non- malignant gynecological conditions

  • Introduction into organization and structure of the department
  • Participation in daily patients rounds, specialized interdisciplinary conferences,
  • Urogynecology outpatient consultations
  • Ultrasound diagnostics
  • Endometriosis: diagnostics and treatment
  • Cervical dysplasia: diagnostics and treatment

Candidate qualifications:

  • Medical degree
  • Three years (minimum) professional work experience

Program fees: from 1.600 € per week / per person (not included are interpreter services, board and lodging costs)

Master classes are conducted as visiting lectures on site with the customer or via teleconferences. Contracting medical institution determines the content, approximate amount of hours and provides information about the educational level of the class participants

Purpose of the program:

  • Train medical and paramedical staff to upgrade the qualification
  • Teach medical students

Term of the training: by agreement

Number of Participants: no limitation

The program includes:

  • A finalized plan and content of seminars in accordance with requests of medical institution
  • Selecting qualified lectures from the Medical Center – University of Freiburg, Academy for medical professions or from  regional partner medical institutions
  • Preparation of Power-Point slides
  • Translation of Power-Point slides
  • Interpreter services during a teleseminar and technical support by German partners

Program Fee: for 5 hour package: from 4.400 €

International Medical Services of Medical Center – University of Freiburg offers a hospital management program to upgrade the qualification of medical staff.

Purpose of the program: introduction to German health care system, basic management, finance and budgeting of the University medical center

Term of the training: 1 week and more.

Number of participants: min 2 pers.

The program includes:

  • Organization of the Medical Center University of Freiburg
  • Introduction to DRG system
  • Medical insurance system in Germany
  • Effective management and quality control at the Medical Center
  • Implementation of international standards for the quality and safety of patients
  • Participants can choose one extra topic of their interest
  • Department tours
  • Planning of program content in accordance with special requests of the contracting medical institution
  • Selecting qualified lectures from the Medical Center – University of Freiburg, Academy for medical professions or from regional partner medical institutions
  • Preparation of Power-Point slides and their translation
  • Coordination of program provided by a physician and an English-speaking employee of International Medical Services.
