IMS Patient service
The International Medical Services programme offers special services for foreign patients and their families who come for medical treatment to the University Medical Center Freiburg. Our personal coordinators are committed to making each patient’s stay as comfortable and convenient as possible.
International Medical Services turns personalized service and top-level care into practice. Our services include providing you with cost estimates, scheduling medical appointments, interpreters and travel arrangements as well as just assisting you in other matters. Excellent medicine in combination with all-round care ensures a unique package you will not find elsewhere.
The IMS staff provides assistance with the following:
• Informing you about available medical services, programmes and physicians
• Providing you with a cost estimate
• Locating the right physicians to meet your specific needs
• Arranging formal “second opinions” after a medical record review
• Scheduling appointments
• Visa support – letter of invitation
• Transportation and accommodation arrangements
• Organising emergency medical transport upon request
• Arranging private nurses upon request
• Airport pick up services, including limousine services
• Organising private jet flights upon request
• Interpreter services in many languages
• Assistance with religious and cultural needs
• Organization of technical equipment (such as laptop or fax) if required
• Booking of sightseeing tours for you and your family (Black Forest, Switzerland, France)
• Final billing (8 weeks after your departure)
• Preparing, translating your medical reports (price upon request)
• Arranging purchase of medicine
• Arranging teleconsultation with your physician
• Helping with the selection of rehabilitation clinics
