Whether visiting loved ones, grabbing a snack at the café, or going to a medical appointment, patients and visitors navigate the large campus of the Medical Center - University of Freiburg every day. However, getting around such a large campus can be difficult, especially for first-time visitors and patients with limited mobility. As of 22 August 2016, the Medical Center - University of Freiburg offers a unique mobility service: Free-of-charge electric-powered pedicabs can take people to destinations on the central campus, located on or near Hugstetterstrasse and Breisacherstrasse. Interested patrons can either get a pedicab at the newly-constructed stand or simply hail one on the go. „We offer this service as a way to help patients and visitors get around our large and ever-expanding campus more conveniently,“ says Bernd Sahner, Chief Financial Officer of the Medical Center - University of Freiburg.

„Zero-emission, near-silent pedicabs not only allow us to transport people around our campus in an environmentally-friendly and sustainable manner, but they are also in line with Freiburg’s image as a green city,“ says Mr. Sahner.
