International Medical Services (IMS) offers special services for foreign patients and their families who come for medical treatment to the Medical Center – University of Freiburg. Our patient managers are committed to making each patient’s stay as comfortable and convenient as possible.

Please note: International Medical Services and Business Development (IMS) is a part of a public institution; it is a department of the Medical Center – University of Freiburg, not a private company. All IMS staff members are employees of the hospital. They get a fixed salary independent of the number of patients under their care, and no commission.

The IMS staff provides assistance with the following: providing you with cost estimates, scheduling medical appointments, organisation of interpreters, visa and travel arrangements as well as just assisting you in other matters.

The IMS staff can also make recommendations concerning sightseeing tours for you and your family, for example in the Black Forest, Switzerland, France, or other places of your choice.
