Complementary treatments in oncology
A cancer diagnosis presents existential questions and challenges to those affected and their relatives. Very often in discussions with therapists and physicians they are asked how far it is possible to be helped by naturopathy (natural medicine), be it to avoid side effects of standard treatment, to leave no stone unturned, or also to use effectively against the disease itself.
At the Center for Complementary Medicine of the Medical Center - University of Freiburg, these questions are answered by experienced physicians, adapted to each individual case. The consultations and treatments take place in a pleasant atmosphere. Those affected can rely on the fact that the naturopathic recommendations are compatible with the necessary standard therapy. Naturopathy is used in close collaboration with oncologists, radiotherapists and family doctors.
In addition to individual patient treatment, the Center for Complementary Medicine also conducts clinical studies and preclinical research, particularly on herbal preparations, and training in natural medicine for students and physicians.
