Prof. Dr. Robert Thimme, Medical Director of the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg, is in 2019 the only new European member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation (ASCI), which publishes the Journal of Clinical Investigation. The induction ceremony will be in April 2019 in Chicago at the joint annual meeting of the ASCI, the Association of American Physicians, and the American Physician-Scientists Association. ASCI membership is determined upon recommendation by election, and distinguishes special achievements in clinical-experimental research.
