Minimally Invasive Pain Therapy: TAPE

Chronic pain can now be treated with TAPE (Transarterial Periarticular Embolization), a minimally invasive procedure performed under X-ray guidance. TAPE targets the tiny blood vessels causing inflammation and pain, reducing discomfort, improving mobility, and speeding recovery — all without surgery.

How it works:
A thin catheter delivers a temporary, targeted embolization agent to the affected vessels under local anesthesia. Most patients stay 1–2 days and can then start physical therapy. The procedure can be repeated if needed.

Suitable for:

Joint, ligament, and tendon conditions

  • Osteoarthritis (up to grade III–IV)
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Recurrent joint bleeding
  • Tendinopathies resistant to conservative treatment

Treated areas: knee, hip, shoulder, thumb base, plantar fascia, Achilles tendon

Women’s Health

  • Uterine fibroid embolization
  • Pelvic congestion syndrome embolization

Peripheral Vascular Malformations

  • Sclerotherapy of venous malformations
  • Sclerotherapy of lymphatic malformations

Benefits

  • Minimal invasiveness, no scalpel
  • Fast recovery and return to daily life
  • Targeted treatment with protection of healthy tissue
