Pancreatic surgery
Innovative Treatment for Pancreas Disorders
The Pancreatic Surgery Section provides minimally-invasive, robotic and conventional procedure options for patients diagnosed with cancer of the pancreas, duodenum and extrahepatic bile duct. We offer risk-stratified prophylactic removal of pancreatic neoplastic cysts and provide tailored surgical solutions for patients with chronic and acute necrotizing pancreatitis.
Our specialized pancreatic surgeons promise compassionate care at every stage of your journey.
Excellence
We have one of the highest volumes of pancreatic surgeries in the nation. Our experienced surgeons are passionately dedicated to the pancreas. We offer second opinions for pancreatic and periampullary cancer, pancreatic cysts and chronic pancreatitis.
Gentle Options
Our pancreatic surgeons are trained and specialize in treating pancreatic cancer and neoplastic pancreas cysts through robotic and laparoscopic surgery. Our team will accurately gauge specific safety and risk profiles of available techniques for your personal case. Whenever feasible minimally invasive and tissue-sparing techniques will be applied.
Advanced Pancreatic Cancer Treatment
Within the Comprehensive Cancer Center Freiburg and in close collaboration with our colleagues from Oncology, Gastroenterology, Radiooncology and Radiology, we pretreat, reevaluate and resect metastatic and advanced pancreatic cancers in the context of clinical trials that others may deem irresectable, i.e. ineligible for surgical removal.
