Laryngeal cancer treatment in Germany

Laryngeal cancer is the most common oncological disease of the upper respiratory tract (about 70%). It affects mostly men from 40 to 70 years of age (for every 100 men, suffering from cancer of the larynx, there are only 24 women).

To treat throat cancer in Germany, latest surgical and medical methods, as well as radiation therapy, are applied. Chemotherapy for throat cancer is mostly ineffective, and might be used only in combination with other methods.

A type of operation for the treatment of laryngeal cancer is selected depending on the stage of the disease, most often it is:

  • laser resection;
  • endoscopic resection;
  • partial laryngectomy;
  • radical laryngectomy.
