Your Specialists for Blood Diseases

We care for children and adolescents with all types of blood diseases. The treatment of patients is carried out by an experienced multi-professional team that takes into account not only the medical but also the psychosocial needs of the patients.

For patients and families with rare blood diseases, we offer an appointment at our Center for Congenital and Acquired Blood Diseases, which is part of the Freiburg Center for Rare Diseases. We are also happy to advise adult patients here.

Our particular focus is on the treatment of patients with bone marrow diseases, such as: 

• severe aplastic anemia (SAA), in which the blood-forming stem cells in the bone marrow are depleted, or
• Diamond-Blackfan anemia, a rare congenital anemia, as well as
• other congenital bone marrow failures and myelodysplastic syndromes, in which too few functional blood cells are produced.
