Radiology

As one or the largest radiology departments in Germany, we employ around 200 physicians, research specialists and technical assistants who exclusively work with the most modern radiology equipment. Our specialists share a passion for medical excellence, patient safety and individual service.
Radiology at the Medical Center - University of Freiburg is characterized by state-of-the-art imaging, performed with the latest generation of scanners. We have extensive experience in carrying out CT and MR tomography for the diagnosis of a wide spectrum of diseases affecting the brain, spinal cord, vertebral column, heart and vessels, the organs in the chest and abdominal, the small pelvis, joints, and many more.
Highly specialized teams perform more than 150.000 examinations per year.
One of our specialties is interventional radiology: modern angiography, tumor ablation and chemoembolization performed in cooperation with interdisciplinary teams.

Accreditation
Our department is certified by the German Society of Interventional Radiology/ Neuroradiology Level 1 and 2 (DeGIR) and is an official educational site of the DeGIR.
All our work processes are in accordance with KTQ quality standards.
Furthermore, our physicists work and research with Siemens to improve and develop new MRI examination methods, digital mammography and minimal invasive methods of tumor treatment.
