Diagnosis: breast cancer
In 2018, Marianna – an oncology nurse at the Medical Center – University of Freiburg – was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her world was turned upside down.
She began chemotherapy at the Freiburg Breast Center without delay, followed by a series of surgeries. The months that followed were physically and emotionally challenging. But throughout it all, Marianna received unwavering support from the medical team, her colleagues, and her loved ones.
Returning to work gave her a renewed sense of purpose. Today, she finds strength in life’s small moments: walks in nature, laughing with her daughter, and the freedom to live on her own terms.
