Examination: Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) – First-time consultation and hearing assessment
On August 25, 2025, I visited the Department of Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) at the University Medical Center Freiburg for the first time — and I would like to express my deep gratitude to the entire team for their high level of professionalism and outstanding organization.
I arrived early in the morning, received my number at 7:30 AM, and was already registered by 8:03. The entire visit — including hearing tests and a consultation with the physician — took about an hour and a half. Throughout that time, I experienced an atmosphere of calm efficiency, mutual respect, and clear structure. Everything ran smoothly from start to finish.
To be honest, I had read several negative reviews online the day before and came with some concerns. But what I encountered in reality couldn’t have been more different. From the first moment, I was met with politeness, professionalism, and a respectful tone — all of which are rare and deeply appreciated.
My reason for the visit was to check my hearing. I’ve been deaf in my left ear since early childhood — not from birth, but most likely as a result of taking antibiotics at the age of 3 or 4. Living in Germany and hoping for progress in medical technology, I wanted to find out whether — at 46 — there might still be a chance for me to hear again.
Unfortunately, the results confirmed that this won’t be possible — too much time has passed. Hearing aids also wouldn’t help in my case.
Nevertheless, I left the clinic not with disappointment, but with clarity and deep appreciation. I received clear, honest information and felt truly seen and heard.
My heartfelt thanks go out to everyone in the ENT Department — the doctors, assistants, and front desk staff — for their professionalism and humanity.
