Since July 2022, Serhii Palienko has been undergoing dialysis at the Dialysis Center of the Medical Center - University of Freiburg. During his one-year treatment at the Medical Center Serhii's blood count returned to normal. He no longer needs to take medication for blood pressure, heart or headaches. His potassium, phosphorus, calcium and toxin levels are optimal; the process of demyelinating polyneuropathy has stopped.

Serhii tells us: "Because of osteoporosis and polyneuropathy, I often broke my fingers. In September 2022 my hand was operated and pins were implanted to restore the functionality of my limbs. I also underwent a comprehensive examination at the Department of Neurology and Neuroscience and was prescribed a course of rehabilitation.

In addition, my vision was very poor, but all my vision problems (myopia, cataract, astigmatism, retinal damage) were solved at the Eye Center of the Medical Center - University of Freiburg.

In September 2023 I also had a surgery for appendicitis. Within two weeks the complications (local peritonitis) were removed and the abdominal cavity drainage was installed.

In Ukraine after dialysis my blood pressure was 200/130. Now my blood pressure does not exceed 130/90. I'm preparing for a kidney transplantation.

I do hope that I will no longer have to check the professionalism of other departments of the Medical Center - University of Freiburg. My wife, who is a doctor, was impressed by the medical equipment of the Medical Center. In my opinion, the German diagnostic criteria and treatment approach in Freiburg are the best in the world. Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to see, walk and live fully again!"
